Popular composer Dave Frishberg dead at 72

Dave Frishberg, the prolific jazz and rock composer who performed with such big-name acts as David Bowie, Art Garfunkel, Joni Mitchell, Phish, Crosby, Stills and Nash, Earth, Wind & Fire, Johnny Cash, Sarah McLachlan, and Jennifer Warnes, and was a contributor to “Schoolhouse Rock,” the iconic children’s music program, has died. He was 72.

The Detroit Free Press first reported the death. The Telegraph, a UK newspaper, had also reported that Frishberg died last week. Representatives for Frishberg confirmed his death.
