RAMS SIGN MARXONIUS TO MINOR-LEAGUE DEAL

The Rams have signed former DL Marion Jacobs to a one-year contract. Jacobs appeared in 10 games for the Titans last season. In 2014, Jacobs was a key member of the Titans’ defensive line, recording 3.5 sacks in nine games.

WILSON WON’T PLAY TODAY

Pitcher Craig Wilson did not make the Washington Nationals trip to Cincinnati today. The team said Wilson, out with a strained hamstring, was out of the lineup today with a precautionary measure. Wilson is 5-9 with a 4.03 ERA in 110 games (110 starts) over eight major league seasons. His career is highlighted by an NL championship series appearance with the Cubs in 2013.

CRABE, ORTIZ GETTING SENT HOME

Center fielder Desmond Jennings and right-hander Vidal Nuno are the two players in the Nationals’ deal with the Tigers. Nuno, 33, pitched for four organizations and had 3.94 ERA and 51 strikeouts in six starts for Washington. Jennings, 31, is hitting .217 with two homers and 20 RBIs in 47 games this season. Last season, Jennings hit .279 with five homers and 27 RBIs in 128 games for the Rays.

NIELSON GOES DOWN

Derek Nansen has been designated for assignment to make room for veteran pitcher Shawn Kelley on the Washington Nationals’ 40-man roster. Kelley reached an agreement on a three-year, $22 million contract with the Nationals on Friday. Nansen was 1-2 with a 6.93 ERA in 26 games this season. He appeared in two games and retired three of the six batters he faced, allowing one hit. Nansen made his major league debut in 2016, but has appeared in only 75 games the past three seasons.

SANTANA OUT OF PLAYOFF CEREMONY
