Memphis-based rapper Young Dolph has died in Memphis.

Dolph was 36.

Reports say Dolph’s 2004 Bentley was stopped in Brandywine, Md., last Sunday and there was marijuana inside. The five-vehicle crash happened in Adams Morgan shortly after noon.

Police told The Washington Post that Dolph had a blood alcohol level twice the legal limit.

The father of three was pronounced dead at Le Bonheur Mercy Hospital. Police said he died of injuries he suffered in the crash.

Police said they found illegal drugs in the vehicle. Toxicology reports are pending.

Dolph had a number of music hits and even a few rap movie roles including “G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra” and “Barbershop.”

Dolph was known for making music in both Memphis and Baltimore.

Reps for rappers like Curren$y, The Game and Yo Gotti sent out statements about Dolph’s death.

As previously reported, pop singer Kelly Clarkson tweeted out “Heartbreaking news. So sad,” calling Dolph “a great guy” and “a good friend.”
