Dolph has been arguably the biggest hip-hop star out of Atlanta for the past two years. He released his mixtape “No Diggity” in December 2014, and his debut album, “First Flight,” hit shelves in November 2017.

In January 2019, Dolph released his sophomore LP, “Hotel Key” — his first full-length release since he was shot in the chest on his way to see one of his sons.

Dolph’s Law is a hashtag and associated Facebook group with followers who post GIFs and pictures of their favorite quotes from Dolph. Some of the most popular quotes:

“You know when a song leaves my brain and enters another!” (aka, Dolph’s Law quote)

“Dolph is feeling me,” which Dolph says each time he hits the stage to perform (this can often be seen on Instagram during live concerts).

” ‘Dolph is out here killing it, I don’t play, this is life, I don’t have anything to play with'”

“The hardwork that we put in to get to where we’re at, it’s nowhere near over” (Dolph’s Law Instagram post)

“I’m here to change the game that you all like old you like old, I’m the new you like the new you.”

“I’ve made a lot of money and a lot of millions of dollars. But when I make that money, I go back to my roots. I leave everything I’ve got and make a dreary scene and then turn it in no music, just damn.”

Dolph’s Law messages

About Dolph’s Law, Dolph told CNN on Instagram the: “The meme is basically just trying to address situations that I’ve been in and everything that I feel like I’ve been through,” said Dolph. “It’s just like spreading awareness and letting other people know to look at me as an example and a resource of how you can overcome a lot of the struggles we go through in this world and just turn it into something positive.

“Everyone experiences trials and tribulations in their lives, but you gotta be confident in who you are,” he added.

In November, Dolph described an assault on him in October 2018, in which two men assaulted him on the streets of Atlanta.

“Five dudes came into a parking lot, and one of them kicked my side,” he said. “And as soon as they kicked my side, the other one pulled his gun out and started going to the backseat and taking off with my stuff. That’s when I grabbed the car and took off the front passenger side window. When I got to this spot, I was so far in there with my hands in the air, I guess the people that beat me actually shot me in the back of the leg because my legs didn’t leave the ground.”
